Foxtrot Mike Products Introduces the ISU-9: Redefining Integrally Suppressed 9mm PCC Technology

Eight years of patented suppressor development deliver reduced recoil, less reciprocating mass, exceptional accuracy, and a revolutionary approach to gas management—all at an MSRP of just $499.

BOISE, IDAHO — Foxtrot Mike Products (F.M. Products Inc.), an American firearms manufacturer recognized for developing innovative, feature-rich firearms and components at accessible prices, proudly announces the introduction of the ISU-9 Integrally Suppressed 9mm Upper Receiver.

Developed around an FM Products patented suppressor system refined over eight years of research, development, and testing, the ISU-9 represents a fundamentally different approach to suppressed pistol-caliber carbine (PCC) design.

Rather than simply attaching a suppressor to a conventional blowback firearm, Foxtrot Mike Products engineered the ISU-9 as a complete system, integrating suppression, gas management, and firearm operation into a single, highly refined platform.

The result is a lightweight, exceptionally soft-shooting integrally suppressed 9mm upper receiver that reduces the characteristic pressure spike associated with traditional blowback systems while utilizing the natural back pressure generated by the suppressor to help drive the operating system.

With an MSRP of just $499, the ISU-9 also challenges the longstanding assumption that advanced integrally suppressed technology must come with an expensive price tag.

A MESSAGE FROM FOXTROT MIKE PRODUCTS

"For years, the industry has approached suppressed 9mm PCCs by adding mass, mechanical complexity, or both to manage the operating characteristics of the firearm. We believed there was a better way.

The ISU-9 represents our answer: manage the expanding gases differently, reduce unnecessary reciprocating mass, and deliver a softer-shooting integrally suppressed platform at a price everyday Americans can afford.

"At $499, we're extremely proud of what our team has accomplished. This product represents exactly what Foxtrot Mike Products stands for—challenging conventional thinking, embracing difficult engineering problems, and delivering innovative, high-quality firearms to hardworking Americans without the premium price."

— Paul Noonan, CEO, Foxtrot Mike Products

NOT BLOWBACK. NOT DELAYED. A DIFFERENT APPROACH.

Traditional blowback 9mm PCCs rely on substantial bolt and buffer mass, combined with recoil-spring resistance, to manage chamber pressure during firing.

As the projectile travels through the barrel, expanding gases generate pressure behind it. In conventional blowback systems, this pressure acts against a relatively heavy bolt assembly, with the reciprocating mass contributing to the sharp, snappy recoil impulse commonly associated with 9mm PCCs.

When a traditional blowback PCC is suppressed, additional back pressure can further increase operating loads and affect the firearm's cycling characteristics.

Delayed-blowback systems seek to address some of these challenges through additional mechanical components, often introducing greater complexity, manufacturing expense, and maintenance requirements.

The ISU-9 takes a fundamentally different approach to managing these forces.

The heart of the system is Foxtrot Mike Products' patented integral suppression technology, which begins managing expanding gases while the projectile is still traveling through the barrel.

Precision-drilled barrel ports, engineered to intersect the lands of the rifling rather than the grooves, allow expanding gases to enter the suppressor system and maintain excellent accuracy.

From there, the gases are redirected through an internal labyrinth, expanded into the suppressor chamber surrounding the barrel, directed through an integrated baffle stack, and progressively exhausted forward through specially engineered ports in the flash-suppressor end cap.

This controlled gas-management system reduces the pressure spike associated with traditional blowback designs while utilizing suppressor-generated back pressure to drive the system's amazing reliability.

By controlling how pressure develops and dissipates, the ISU-9 achieves a softer operating impulse without relying on excessive reciprocating mass.

Rather than fighting the additional back pressure created by a suppressor, Foxtrot Mike Products engineered the ISU-9 to use that pressure as part of the operating system.

This distinction is central to the ISU-9's design philosophy and contributes to its smoother recoil characteristics and reduced operating loads compared with conventional suppressed blowback configurations.

LESS RECOIL. LESS MASS. MORE CONTROL.

The ISU-9 was engineered to deliver meaningful improvements that shooters can immediately appreciate.

Its integrated gas-management technology provides several important advantages:

  • Significantly reduced felt recoil: A softer, smoother recoil impulse compared with traditional blowback PCC operating systems.
  • Reduced reciprocating mass: Less moving weight helps minimize firearm disturbance during firing.
  • Faster follow-up shots: Improved controllability allows shooters to recover their sight picture more naturally between shots.
  • Reduced operating loads: Managing expanding gases helps moderate the mechanical forces associated with conventional suppressed blowback operation.
  • Smooth, consistent cycling: Suppression and operating-system characteristics work together rather than functioning as separate design considerations.
  • Simplified mechanical architecture: Fewer complex moving components than many delayed-blowback alternatives.
  • Integrated suppression: A sophisticated flow-through gas-management system delivers effective sound suppression within a compact package.

Extensive development and testing have confirmed that the ISU-9's pressure-management approach reduces the characteristic pressure spike of conventional blowback designs.

Rather than relying on increasingly heavy bolt and buffer combinations to manage recoil, the ISU-9 addresses the pressure characteristics contributing to that recoil.

The result is a noticeably smoother, more controllable shooting experience, particularly during rapid strings of fire.

SUBSONIC PERFORMANCE WITH COMMON 9MM AMMUNITION

One of the ISU-9's most compelling features is its ability to reduce the velocity of conventional 9mm ammunition to subsonic speeds.

The patented barrel-porting system begins redirecting expanding gases while the projectile remains in the bore, reducing projectile velocity and directing the gases through the integral suppressor.

This enables shooters to achieve subsonic performance with conventional 9mm ammunition without necessarily purchasing specialized subsonic loads.

The ISU-9 is designed to accommodate a range of common 9mm ammunition, including 115-grain, 124-grain, and heavier projectile offerings.

Actual projectile velocity may vary depending on ammunition characteristics and environmental conditions.

By combining projectile-velocity management with integrated sound suppression, the ISU-9 provides a versatile and refined suppressed shooting experience.

PRECISION ENGINEERING WITHOUT COMPROMISING ACCURACY

Ported-barrel suppression systems are not new. However, Foxtrot Mike Products approached barrel porting with a particular emphasis on manufacturing precision and projectile stability.

The ISU-9 incorporates precision-drilled gas ports engineered to intersect the lands of the barrel's rifling rather than the grooves.

This demanding manufacturing process was developed to maintain projectile stability and preserve accuracy as gases are redirected into the suppressor system.

Extensive accuracy testing conducted during development has confirmed that the ISU-9 delivers excellent accuracy despite its sophisticated barrel-porting architecture.

The combination of effective gas management, integrated suppression, and excellent accuracy represents a significant engineering accomplishment.

It also reflects Foxtrot Mike Products' willingness to tackle demanding manufacturing challenges when they produce meaningful benefits for customers.

ULTRA-SLIM DESIGN. FULL-SIZED FUNCTIONALITY.

Integrally suppressed firearms have historically required compromises in size, weight, ergonomics, or accessory compatibility.

The ISU-9 was specifically engineered to minimize those compromises.

Building upon the proven and highly popular Foxtrot Mike Products VFM-9 upper receiver platform, the ISU-9 integrates its suppression technology into an exceptionally slim package.

The compact suppressor architecture enables an ultra-slim handguard featuring 28 full-sized M-LOK® accessory slots, providing generous space for lights, hand stops, grips, and other accessories.

Unlike many integrally suppressed designs, the ISU-9 allows standard M-LOK mounting hardware to be installed without removing the handguard or suppressor components.

The result is a user-friendly design offering excellent balance, comfortable support-hand positioning, and substantial accessory-mounting flexibility.

TWO CHARGING OPTIONS. ONE FAMILIAR PLATFORM.

Recognizing that shooters have different preferences, the ISU-9 incorporates both forward- and rear-charging capabilities.

Shooters can utilize a traditional mil-spec AR charging handle for a familiar manual of arms or take advantage of the forward-charging system for alternative ergonomics.

This flexibility allows the ISU-9 to accommodate a broad range of shooting styles without requiring users to abandon their preferred controls.

ENGINEERED FOR DURABILITY AND REAL-WORLD USE

Like every product developed by Foxtrot Mike Products, the ISU-9 was designed with reliability, durability, and practical ownership in mind.

Its straightforward architecture avoids many of the mechanically complex components associated with delayed-blowback operating systems, while its integrated gas-management technology helps moderate the operating loads commonly experienced by suppressed PCCs.

The ISU-9 was also developed and tested with consideration for the growing popularity of modern user configurations available today.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY WITHOUT THE PREMIUM PRICE

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the ISU-9 is its price.

Integrally suppressed firearm systems have traditionally commanded substantial premiums, placing them beyond the reach of many everyday shooters.

Foxtrot Mike Products believes meaningful innovation should not be reserved for customers willing to pay luxury prices.

By combining extensive in-house manufacturing experience, patented intellectual property, and a commitment to efficient production, the company has delivered a technologically advanced integrally suppressed upper receiver with an MSRP of just $499.
