National Shooting Sports Month is an August-long industry initiative created by NSSF, the firearm industry's lead trade association, to celebrate target shooting, promote safe and responsible firearm use, welcome new shooters, support ranges and retailers, and to encourage experienced shooters to introduce others to the shooting sports.
National Shooting Sports Month runs throughout the month of August, with this year marking the event's 10th anniversary.

The central messaging and instructional content are designed to help shooters and hunters to prepare better, practice with purpose, and to build confidence through safe, disciplined, and repeatable range habits.
