American Holoptics Acquires Armasight

American Holoptics, a privately held U.S. company, has acquired Armasight from Ecentria Group, headquartered in Northbrook, IL. Ecentria, a privately held retail and distribution company and a corporate parent of OpticsPlanet.com serves as an e-business platform that specializes in high-performance technical gear, sporting goods, and tactical equipment for outdoor enthusiasts, professionals, and government agencies.

Armasight, a Tempe, AZ-based manufacturer of high quality, yet affordable night vision and thermal optics, adds diversification to American Holoptics portfolio by providing a thorough product line up that addresses both consumers and professionals at price points that are acceptable in those markets. "The thermal and night vision market is growing rapidly, but the primary growth is in the consumer, price-friendly space, said Joe Caradonna, Managing Partner for American Holoptics. "We look forward to entering this market with the solid product line currently in place, but also to infuse our optical expertise to not only enhance these products but to develop new, innovative solutions."

"Re-launching and rebuilding Armasight as a brand offering innovative and high quality thermal and night vision products over the past five years has been an amazing journey for Ecentria" said Mark Levitin, Ecentria's CEO. "By divesting Armasight to American Holoptics we are ensuring the brand has the resources and expertise to thrive, and I look forward to seeing its continued success as a part of this great organization." he added.
