Lipsey's Breaks Ground on Construction of New Corporate Headquarters and Distribution Center

Lipsey's, one of the nation's leading sporting goods wholesalers, announces that construction will begin in April 2026 on its new state-of-the-art corporate headquarters and distribution center. The 265,000 square foot facility will be built next to Ruffino's on Highland Road, marking a major milestone for the Baton Rouge-based company.

The project includes a modernized distribution center and an expanded office complex, creating a next-generation home for Lipsey's as it grows its national footprint. "For almost seventy-five years, Lipsey's has been proud to call Baton Rouge home," said Laurie Lipsey, Chairwoman & CEO. "This project reflects our continued belief in the region and dedication to our team, customers, and partners who have helped us grow. Our new headquarters will position us for the future while honoring the legacy and values that define our family-owned company."

The new campus will integrate advanced logistics and workflow design, expanded storage capacity, and upgraded technology infrastructure to support Lipsey's growing operations. The additional office space will provide collaborative work environments and long-term flexibility for future expansion.

As construction begins, Lipsey's leadership emphasized that the expansion goes far beyond additional space. "As we grow, we're investing in automation and improved workflow systems that will make our team more efficient and help us deliver even better support to our customers and partners. With Arkel Construction, Ritter Maher, and Powers Brown Architects, we've crafted a thoughtful vision for Lipsey's future: one that projects our culture, strengthens relationships, and prepares us for the next chapter," said Mark Emonet, President & COO.

"Since my family first moved to Baton Rouge in the 1940's, the foundation of our company has always been its people and the relationships we've built over generations," said Richard Lipsey, Founder. "Seeing Lipsey's take this next step in Baton Rouge makes me incredibly proud. This new home represents progress, stability, and a promise that we will continue serving our community, customers, and employees with integrity and dedication for decades to come."

Local officials, including East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sid Edwards and St. George Mayor Dustin Yates, attended today's groundbreaking ceremony, joining business leaders, community partners, state representatives, and members of the Lipsey family and leadership team in celebrating the company's next chapter.

Founded in 1953 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lipsey's has grown from a regional wholesale distributor of hunting and fishing supplies into one of the nation's largest independently owned firearms distributors. With a comprehensive catalog spanning firearms, NFA items, and accessories, Lipsey's is driven by its guiding mantra, "AIM HIGHER," a commitment to innovation, integrity, and service to family and community. Through industry-leading exclusive firearms partnerships and long-standing relationships with top manufacturers, Lipsey's delivers unmatched value to federally licensed dealers nationwide.
