GENESEO, ILL. – Springfield Armory® is proud to announce it has won On Target magazine’s Editors’ Choice Award for the Echelon™ 9mm pistol.
According to On Target magazine, the Editors' Choice Awards are reserved for the best of the best new products — those that demonstrate outstanding technical achievement and/or represent an extraordinary value for the price.
“We applaud Springfield Armory for catering to the professionals who serve and protect with the new duty-sized Echelon 9mm pistol, which exhibits a level of innovation that’s typically been reserved for compact carry guns as of late,” said Ben Battles, Editor of On Target magazine. “The Echelon checks every single one of our must-have boxes, as well as boxes we didn’t even know needed to be checked.”
The fully ambidextrous Echelon sets a new standard for modern, striker-fired duty pistols and is offered with a choice of U-Dot™ tritium/luminescent or traditional three-dot tritium sights. Accuracy performance of the Echelon is ensured by the hammer-forged 4.5” barrel, while a 5.28” hammer-forged threaded barrel model is also available. The two included magazines feature a capacity of 17+1 in the flush-fit configuration, and 20+1 with the extended base pad installed.
Featuring a host of patent-pending features, the modular and highly adaptable Echelon is designed around a robust stainless steel chassis. Employing cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, the all-new patent-pending Central Operating Group is an entirely self-contained and serialized chassis easily moved between available grip modules in seconds.
In addition, the Echelon’s truly innovative Variable Interface System further enhances the pistol’s adaptability. It employs patent-pending self-locking pins to ensure you maintain consistent and reliable point of aim/point of impact with a mounted optic, and the pins can be positioned to fit a wide range of footprints for a direct-mount fit.
“We are extremely proud that the Echelon has won this award from On Target magazine,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “Engineered with superior ergonomics and built to withstand the harshest conditions, the Echelon is truly an unparalleled design.”
