About the Role
Bleecker Street Publications looking for a seasoned Editorial Lead who lives and breathes the outdoor lifestyle. Someone who knows their way around a bow, rifle, rod, and keyboard. This role is for a natural storyteller and leader who can oversee content across our several brands. From assigning stories and managing writers to coordinating with our video team and handling press opportunities, you’ll be the driving force behind keeping our editorial engine running at full throttle.

What You’ll Do
- Editorial Leadership: Manage day-to-day editorial operations for our hunting, fishing, and outdoor brands.
- Content Planning: Assign, edit, and publish articles, videos, and multimedia content that inform, entertain, and inspire our audience.
- Collaboration: Work closely with writers, photographers, and our Video Director to create engaging cross-platform storytelling.
- Publishing: Handle content posting, formatting, and scheduling across digital platforms.
- Press & Partnerships: Help coordinate press trips, media events, and brand collaborations, ensuring strong industry relationships and coverage opportunities.
- Quality Control: Maintain the brand’s editorial tone, accuracy, and visual standards across all content.
- Strategy Support: Assist in content strategy development, SEO optimization, and audience growth initiatives.
- Trendspotting: Stay ahead of hunting, fishing, and outdoor industry trends to keep our content sharp, relevant, and ahead of the pack.
What You Bring
- Experience: 3–5 years in editorial management, digital content creation, or a related role (outdoor industry experience a big plus).
- Editorial Chops: Strong editing, writing, and storytelling skills with an eye for what engages outdoor audiences.
- Project Management: Organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple deadlines and contributors.
- Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead freelancers, manage internal teams, and coordinate with video and social teams.
- Industry Passion: Deep understanding of hunting, fishing, conservation, gear, and outdoor culture.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient with WordPress or other CMS platforms, and familiar with SEO and content analytics.
