Position Description: Retail Buyer Employee: (Name)
Reporting to: Director of Purchasing Status: Full-time
Maintain service levels on customer orders and minimize inventory dollar investment by maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Maintain inventory by preparing purchase orders and warehouse transfers, adding new items to inventory, maintaining information systems, and historical references. Execute a developed pricing strategy.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
o Purchase inventory by preparing and submitting purchase orders while adhering to open to buy dollars
o Conduct replenishment of existing stock between warehouse locations
o Collaborate with retail sales management on seasonal inventory transfers and purchases
o Stock balance between all retail warehouse locations
o Identify and recommend new items by investigating potential suppliers; researching the competition, sales trends and item availability
o Maintain master file of inventory items by establishing minimum-maximum inventory levels and reordering quantities; updating expected delivery dates; reviewing abnormal usage and lead times
o Resolve shipment discrepancies by mediating vendor/manufacturing issues
o Assist in implementing price strategies and conduct cost, MAP, selling price and reviews
o Identify and procure select items strategically aligned with retail events and flyers
o Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
Expectations
o Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
o Be proficient in BC, Jet, K-Net and other systems related to account maintenance
o Maintain competitive product pricing by negotiating material and supply costs
o Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
