SAF’s Gottlieb Named to ‘Gun Owners For Trump’ Coalition

Alan Gottlieb, founder and executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), has been named to “Gun Owners For Trump,” a coalition of prominent gun rights activists and advocates supporting the re-election of former President Donald J. Trump to a second term in office.

The announcement came over the weekend. Joining Gottlieb in this coalition are officials with the National Rifle Association, Women for Gun Rights, businessmen and women, firearms instructors and radio personality Mark Walters, host of Armed American Radio and a member of the board directors of SAF’s sister organization, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

“This is a distinct honor,” Gottlieb said, “and I am looking forward to working with other members of the coalition, and Mr. Trump, as we head into the campaign. We know from experience that Donald Trump will bring on board pro-rights people to serve in his administration, and his record of nominating constitutionalists to fill vacancies in the federal courts is well established.

“I was especially impressed with Mr. Trump’s appointments to the Supreme Court during his first term,” Gottlieb continued. “Had it not been for the presence of Associate Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett—all Trump nominees—on the high court in 2022, we might not have had the landmark ruling in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, overturning New York’s unconstitutional concealed carry law and setting new guidelines for addressing Second Amendment cases.

“It is almost a certainty that another vacancy will occur on the Supreme Court between 2025 and 2029,” he observed, “and recent history assures America’s gun owners that Donald Trump will make the right choice in filling that position. I’m delighted to be part of the effort to return him to the Oval Office.”
