NSSF Seeks Digital Media Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director, Digital Media, the Digital Media Specialist is responsible for creating, curating and improving content that will attract new audiences and help keep existing ones engaged on various platforms.

NSSF’s Digital Media Specialist is skilled in creative writing and content development for web and social media, is detail-oriented and performs well under deadlines.

Remote position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and disseminate engaging digital content (e.g. articles, blogs, press releases, video, social media, etc.)
  • Lay out, format and edit NSSF’s digital content and email newsletters according to branding and platform style
  • Coordinate the review of digital content with NSSF departments and stakeholders for timely publication on websites, within email campaigns, on social media and other platforms
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams to ensure brand consistency
  • Optimize content for Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Suggest and implement digital marketing methods to improve web presence and boost brand awareness, engagement and reach
  • Stay up-to-date with digital media trends and developments to grow audience engagement
  • Collaborate with Creative Services and Video Production teams to develop and curate visual assets for web, social and digital campaigns
  • Assist with social media marketing campaigns
  • Assist in layout and distribution of email blasts

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

No noted requirements beyond the normal organization-related operations. Some travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in digital communications, digital marketing or related field.
  • Degree in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with digital/web publishing using WordPress, HTML, or other content management systems.
  • Knowledge of email marketing platforms, such as Constant Contact and Pardot.
  • Experience with social media as a content marketing tool.
  • Experience with visual communication principles.
  • Working knowledge or basic understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and web traffic metrics.
  • Additional qualifications in digital design, video editing or animation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the shooting sports, hunting and the firearm industry is desirable.
