S&W Seeks Manager, International Sales Operations

Position Overview:

This role will serve as a key leadership position within the International Sales Department. He/she will be responsible for supervising international sales operations and administration, maintaining departmental records, analyzing sales data, assisting with departmental marketing needs and tracking departmental goal attainment. Ensuring compliance with, and keep current with changes to, all relevant U.S.G. regulations regarding firearms, spare parts, accessories, and handcuffs; including the Arms Export Control Act (AECA), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Regulations, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) Regulations, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) Regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related job training and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of inside sales, customer service and/or high-level administrative experience.
  • Extensive background in ITAR regulations and international shipment regulatory requirements highly desired.
  • Experience in developing and executing customer sales plans and reporting results.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Good command of the English language in both verbal and written communicative skills.
  • Exceptional skills in MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work independently to meet sales goals.
  • Foreign language skills a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with and ensure completion of the day-to-day activities of the international sales administration team, remotely located in Colombia, Missouri.
  • Assist the senior director in the execution of the international sales plan and strategy, including communication with existing and potential customers regarding potential sales opportunities.
  • Assist the international sales team with proposal development and contract/program management.
  • Substantial communication will be required with distributors, customers, freight forwarders, and intercompany departments – must establish and maintain good rapport and communication with customers from a variety of countries, provide timely replies to all communication, and be able to interact and work effectively with personnel throughout the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and U.S. Government regulations concerning international commerce of firearms, spare parts, accessories and handcuffs; including the Arms Export Control Act (AECA), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Regulations, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) Regulations, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) Regulations.
  • Work closely with internal personnel and other sales teams to maximize order fulfillment, production planning and tracking, and export logistics necessary to attain company sales objectives.
  • Create and/or manage internal reports regarding sale attainment and forecasts as required for backorders, new orders, and forecasts for production planning and deliveries.
  • Manage product allocation against existing backlog in conjunction with planned monthly export shipments.
  • Create and administer special programs and promotions for international customers, including review of potential costs and benefits related to program creation and implementation of required PCRs, and communication between customers and internal departments. Makes certain PCRs are in place and valid for all periods of special pricing and/or programs.
  • Work with customers and the finance department regarding credit status and accounts receivable.
  • Assist with the management of external sales representative and distributor groups.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of trade shows.
  • Attend international trade shows as needed.
  • Assists with coordination and clearance of imported materials as required ensuring compliance with U.S. Import regulations and subsequent export regulations if applicable, including products being returned for repair/replacement.
  • Approximate travel of 15-20%. This will include periodic domestic travel to the AOB distribution center in Missouri, international travel to relevant trade shows and other business-related travel as may be required domestically and/or internationally.

Physical Demands:

  • Works in an office environment.
  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.

The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:

  • Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor

The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
